Theresa Lambert Wright

Theresa Lambert Wright, born Theresa Mary Lambert, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026. She was 98 years old. Theresa was born on September 26, 1927, in Shirley, Massachusetts, to David Lambert and Flora Gionet. Growing up during the Great Depression, life was often difficult for her family. Her father passed away at the age of 38 from tuberculosis, and her mother worked at the Samson Cordage factory to provide for her children. Theresa was the youngest of four, with her sister Claire and her brothers Bob and Armand. She attended Ayer High School, graduating in 1945. In the early 1950s, she set out to explore the United States, traveling with her sister Claire and brother-in-law, John Waters. Her journey eventually brought her to San Antonio, Texas, where she met Glenn Wright. Theresa and Glenn were married in San Antonio, shortly after Glenn’s return from service in the Korean War. The couple soon made their way to Portland, Oregon, where Glenn began working for the Great Northern Railway. It was there that they began raising their family, welcoming their first two children: Michelle, born in 1954, and Jack, born in 1957. They made their home in Northeast Portland on Klickitat Street. In 1962, the family relocated to Eugene, Oregon, where they lived for nearly two decades. During this time, their third child, Kenneth, was born in 1966. Theresa devoted herself to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and loving home through the years. In 1981, the family moved to Yakima, Washington, following Glenn’s railroad transfer, and remained there until 1986. They then retired to Vancouver, Washington, where Theresa lived for the next 40 years. Theresa will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her quiet strength, and her gentle kindness. She cherished time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, and treasured visits to her hometown and family in New England. Her family and friends will always remember her sense of humor, her compassion, and the way she made everyone feel cherished and supported. Theresa is survived by her children, Michelle, Jack, and Kenneth; her grandchildren, Shara, Casey, Seamus, and Jackie; and her great-grandchild, Lyon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, and her granddaughter, Shianne. She is also remembered by extended family and loved ones.
