Linda "Lin" Susan Hamm, née Williams, took the last train to the great antique fair in the sky on February 10, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on the 14th of October, 1949, in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, Lin's life was a jubilant journey filled with laughter, love, and a few too many collectibles. Lin, a hippie at heart, was always more peace signs than deadlines. She blazed her trail with an open heart and a backpack that was ready for any adventure, especially if it meant finding the next big treasure-be it at a Santa Cruz boardwalk or a garage sale. Strong-willed with a loyalty as reliable as a perfectly wound pocket watch, Lin was truly the family's own crown jewel. The Victorian era had nothing on Lin's collection of antiques (especially her dear grandma VICK'S antiques that were passed down to her). Lin was the family's unofficial historian, piecing together the tapestry of their lineage with the precision of a detective and the excitement of a treasure hunter . She delved into family history with the excitement of a prospector during a gold rush, ensuring that every ancestor's story was accurate and polished to a shine. Lin's legacy lives on through a cast of characters dear to her heart: her beloved daughter, Serenity Hamm; her grandsons, who could always make her spirit soar never missing a beat Lin made enough memories with to last 2 lifetimes , Zachary and Jayden Hamm; her sister, lifetime adventure buddy, Cheryl Dailey; her dapper brother, Jim Williams, her sister from another mister and partner in crime, Florence; and her cousin, confidant, and fellow giggler and loyal ensemble to her lifelong shenanigans Michelle Duckett. For Lin, life was a beach-and she played in the sand until the very end. Whether it was a day filled with the magic of Disneyland, skipping along the beach's shoreline, or a Sunday adventure with windows down and music up she always spent questing for the next hidden gem or visiting her old childhood beat with her sister and grandchildren in the Hollywood/Almeda district and annually peacock lane, Lin infused every moment with her unique sparkle. The curtains will rise one final time for Lin in the Garden of Inspiration at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, on February 26, 2024, at 2 PM. The stage managers at Evergreen Memorial Gardens are setting the scene for a finale that's sure to be as unforgettable as Lin's penchant for the extraordinary. As Lin embarks on her celestial journey lets imagine her boarding the orient express to the stars, first class ticket in hand, ready to regale the angels with tales of her earthly escapades as she did in our world with "The story of Nellie." Bon Voyage Lin!!! Your spirit will forever be the locomotive pulling our memories along the tracks. After all, she believed everyday should be a beach day even if you have to bring your own sand. And with that, we bid adieu to our Lin, the most delightful antique we ever did know.
