His passing came just weeks after graduating from high school and only a little more than a month before his 19th birthday, leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Grant was born on August 12, 2007, in Vancouver, Washington. From the very beginning, it was clear that Grant was a remarkable young man. Intelligent, hardworking, and endlessly curious, he approached life with determination and a desire to learn. Whether he was figuring out how something worked, helping a friend, or tackling a new challenge, Grant excelled at everything he set his mind to. He had a natural ability to fix things, solve problems, and make life better for those around him. Grant grew up in Washougal, Washington, where he attended school in the Washougal School District. He was blessed with a close-knit group of lifelong friends who became more like brothers over the years. Together they played sports, rode motorcycles and four-wheelers, and were always chasing their next adventure. The friendships Grant built throughout his life were among his greatest treasures and a testament to the loyal, genuine person he was. His high school years were some of the happiest of his life. Grant proudly played varsity football, a sport he loved for both the competition and the camaraderie it provided. He also excelled in weightlifting, where his strength, determination, and work ethic led him to break school records. Even more important than his achievements was the way he encouraged others, always pushing his teammates and friends to believe in themselves and do their very best. Grant had a passion for cars, especially his beloved Mustang. He enjoyed detailing vehicles to earn spending money, but his love for cars went far beyond that. He was always eager to help friends with their vehicles, talk about cars, or dream about the next one he hoped to own. His enthusiasm was contagious and reflected the excitement and ambition he carried throughout his life. In June 2026, Grant proudly graduated from high school and was excited for the future. He planned to spend the summer working at Highway Fuel while enjoying vacations and camping trips with his family. After his 19th birthday, he intended to begin a career in the construction industry, working hard to save for his dream car and build the life he envisioned. Grant had big dreams, a strong work ethic, and every reason to believe those dreams were within reach. Even during his final days, Grant's strength and character never wavered. From his hospital bed, he continued to make those around him smile, reassuring everyone and telling them not to worry. His courage, selflessness, and positive spirit in the face of unimaginable circumstances are memories his family and friends will carry with them forever. Grant will be remembered for his infectious smile, his generous heart, his unwavering loyalty, and the love he shared so freely with others. Though his time on earth was far too short, the impact he made in 18 years will last a lifetime. Grant is survived by his loving mother, Tiffany Jones; his stepfather, Joey Thomas; his younger brother, Samuel; and his father, Grant Paul Johnson Sr. He also leaves behind many beloved family members, dear friends, teammates, classmates, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
