Sheila Hockley Obituary It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sheila Hockley announces her recent passing. Sheila Maria Hockley was born on February. 24th, 1930 in Yakima, WA. Sheila passed away at the age of 94 on Monday, December 30th, 2024 in Vancouver, WA. She passed away of natural causes at the Ray Hickey Hospice House after spending months on Hospice and cared for in the comfort of her own home, where she lived with her daughter, Marci, since 2019. Sheila is survived by her daughters Cheryl Wilson and Marcia Doupe, her son-in-law Steve Wilson, grandchildren Jason Darden, Sheila Plato, Kaitlin and Sheridan Marshino and great-grandchildren. Sheila is predeceased by her parents Jeremiah Harrington and Beatrice Summers, siblings Joe Harrington and Jack Harrington, her husband George Hockley, grandson-in-law Jerry Plato, son-in-law John Doupe and beloved son Randall Darden. Sheila grew up living on a farm in Yakima, WA with her siblings and grandparents after the sudden death of her mother, Beatrice. Growing up this way, although hard, made Sheila the strong, resilient, matriarch of the family that she was. Sheila worked in a cannery in Yakima when she was young and her three children were growing up. In 1967 Sheila, her first husband and three children moved from Yakima, WA to Vancouver, WA. After her children were grown and her divorce, Sheila went back to school where she graduated with her Bachelors in Psychology in the mid 1980's. Sheila completed her years as a perfect homemaker, a loving mother and doting grandmother. She was a longtime faithful member of the Columbia Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, WA. Sheila Maria Hockley will be laid to rest on Friday, January 10th, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, WA. In closing, Sheila Maria Hockley was an extraordinary, angelic, God loving women, mother and grandmother who will be forever missed. May we find peace and comfort knowing that Sheila is now reunited in heaven with so many loved ones that also left too soon. She leaves behind deep shoes to follow as we now find life after such an amazing person.
