Rebecca Maureen Rogers

Rebecca passed away at home on August 12, 2023 at the age of 60 surrounded by her family. Her world revolved around her family first and foremost. Nothing gave her greater joy than spending time with her children, playing with grandson Liam and anticipating the birth of her second grandson Owen. She was so proud of her children and she loved them fiercely. She instilled a strong sense of family in her children and it made her proud that they carried that tradition into their own families. She was a loving spouse and partner. Rebecca's favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, shopping with her daughters, and decorating her home for the holidays. Her home inside and out had decorations for every holiday. She took great pride and joy in planning her tablescapes to host her family for holiday dinners. Growing up, Rebecca enjoyed going with her family to Disneyland, camping in the redwoods and spending summers in Oregon with her Grandparents, siblings and cousins. Rebecca was born in San Jose, California to Jack and Anita Grogan on June 16, 1963, Father's Day. She attended Santa Teresa High School and graduated in 1981. She continued her education at Chico State University and San Jose State University. While living in Chico, Rebecca met Larry. They were married on May 28, 1988 in a beautiful Nuptial Mass at St. Christopher's Church in San Jose. Rebecca studied Fashion Merchandising at Chico State and became a Manager at Nordstrom and then moved to become a Manager at Macy's. Rebecca and Larry lived in San Jose, raising their three children, her true pride and joy, Christopher, Lauren, and Caitlin. Rebecca began working in the early 2000's as a classroom aid for students receiving special education services in the San Jose Unified School District. She was trained in sign language as she worked as a one-on-one aid in her early career. In 2018, Rebecca and Larry moved to Vancouver, Washington where she continued to work as a para educator in the Evergreen School District providing assistance to elementary school students. She was described to have a loving smile and gentle manner while working with her students and staff. Rebecca is preceded in death by her father, Jack (John) Grogan. She is survived by her Mother, Anita Lackey Grogan, her husband of 35 years, Larry Rogers: children Christopher Rogers, Lauren Rogers Consiglio and her husband John, and Caitlin Rogers Roth and her husband John, grandchildren Liam and Owen Roth, her siblings, Dale (Janet) Grogan, Colleen Grogan and John (Bao) Grogan, her Grandmother Marie Lackey, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
