Paul L. Coiteux

Paul Leslie Coiteux, 73, of Cornville, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer that had metastasized to his liver. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Paul is survived by his wife Cathy, sister Leah (Doug) Frankie (Amy), Aaron (Emilee), Bradley (Bobby) as well as one grandson and three granddaughters. He will be remembered for his steadfast love of family, his kind heart, and his unwavering willingness to help others. Born on November 7, 1951, in Vancouver, Washington, Paul was the son of a hardworking family who instilled in him the values of discipline, determination, and compassion. After graduating from high school, Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army. His time in the service deepened his sense of duty and integrity—qualities that remained with him throughout his life. Following his military service, Paul earned his bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in psychology from Western Washington University in 1980. His passion for understanding people and helping guide others led him to a long and respected career as a juvenile detention corrections officer, a role in which he served for over 30 years. Colleagues and young people alike remember his firm yet caring demeanor and his belief in second chances and growth. In 1977 Paul married the love of his life, Cathy, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family. They raised three wonderful sons—and shared countless adventures together. Among his greatest joys was being a grandfather to four amazing grandchildren, with whom he shared his stories, dad humor, and gentle wisdom. Paul embraced life with curiosity and energy. He loved traveling—especially with his family—and treasured trips to places such as Mexico, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Prague, Canada and Germany. He also enjoyed hiking, biking, and umpiring local games. A simple pleasure he never missed was visiting a local coffee shop for his daily coffee and pastry, often joined by Cathy during their retirement in Arizona. Those who knew Paul will forever remember his golden heart. Whether repairing a family or friends’ car, helping with a home project, or lending a hand to someone in need, Paul gave selflessly and without hesitation. His stories, laughter, and lessons will live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known him. As his family reflects on his life and legacy, two quotes ring true: “A father’s love is eternal, and even in his absence, it continues to shape the lives of those he loved.” “It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember.”
