Milton E. Watson

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Milton Enoch Watson, aged 100, of Woodland, Washington, on December 28, 2025. Born on October 10, 1925, in Caldwell, Idaho, Milton was the eldest of ten children born to Challen and Margaret (Cage) Watson. For seventy years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Veva Ruth Watson, until her passing in 2014. Together they raised four children on the values of integrity, diligence, respect, and faith in God. A disabled veteran, Milton served overseas in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Milton's early life was spent by working on his family's farm, where he developed a fascination with electricity and taught himself to master its principles. Described by his parents as “an inquisitive son with a million questions”, Milton’s passion led him to become a skilled television repairman. Music became a powerful tool for Milton, as he played the harmonica to brighten the lives of those around him. In his later years, he often filled the Woodland Care Center with the sounds of his harmonica, singing and lately, the trombone. His life exemplified faith, positivity, optimism, perseverance, and an unyielding spirit. Milton’s resolve to perform on his 100 th birthday drove him to relearn the trombone at age 99. Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Veva Ruth Watson; son, Stanley Eugene Watson; granddaughter, Anna Watson; parents, Challen & Margaret Watson; and brothers, Challen Watson, William Watson, Robert Watson, and Danny Watson. Survivors include his children, Melvin (Margie) Watson of Nampa, Idaho, Frieda Goode (Richard) Rios of Vancouver, WA, and David (Dawnee) Watson of Kasilof, Alaska; seven grandchildren, Richard Goode, Randy Goode, Jared Watson, Kami Pahlas, Adam Watson, Kelsie Clare and Landry Watson; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Milton was a man of faith. A couple days before he passed, he loudly proclaimed from his room (hoping residents/caregivers could hear him), “I want to see everyone in heaven!”. Milton Celebrated his 100 th birthday in a wheelchair. Now he is walking on streets of gold. A private family interment will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery.
