Marvin Dee Bare

Marvin Dee Bare, 61, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on January 29, 2023. Marvin was born on January 4, 1962 to Archie and Patricia Bare in Vancouver, WA. The youngest of 4 children, he was "the baby" but became a pillar in the family. Marvin graduated from Evergreen High School in 1980, he went on to enlist in the United States Navy Aviation where he served 4 years but he made the choice to be closer to family. Following his time in the Navy Marvin began working at Betts Spring Company as a shop mechanic, kickstarting a 35 year career with Betts. In 1987, Marvin met Ann Crocker at his cousin Shane's house; thankfully, for her friendship with Johanna, Ann was there that day. Their connection was instant and by the following year they were committed to each other. In 1994 they welcomed the first of 3 children Cheyanne Mykela Bare. Followed by Madison Dee Bare and Kyle Harrison Bare. In 2019 they became grandparents for the first time to Emerson Andrès Llanos Bare and again in 2022 to Eden Archie Llanos Bare. Marvin "Gardens" was a stellar athlete; his achievements include a hole in one and a perfect 300 bowling game. In addition to those feats, he lifted several championship trophies as a first baseman alongside his A-affordable softball family. He was a proud "lefty" and instantly identified and connected with other lefties in the room. Pacific Northwest born and raised, he enjoyed days at the lake lounging on the boat, camping in his motorhome, the softball field as both a player and cheerleader. He also found joy in traveling and warm beaches abroad. Often happiest with a bahama-mama in his hand and "his lady" by his side. His proudest achievement remains his children. He was a dad first and wore his cargo shorts and sandals with pride. Enjoyed dunking each of his children off the boat tube. A master of squeeze hugs. Marvin was the protector of the family and provided a calm and kind listening ear. Marvin was a source of strength for everyone that entered his orbit. He put family first and created fond memories with his loved ones, especially a lifelong friendship with his sister Janice. Even for those that were not blood related, he soon became their "Uncle Marv". He had an uncanny ability to make anyone he talked to feel like they were best of buddies. Marvin was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Bare. Marvin is survived by his loving wife Ann Crocker Bare. His three children Cheyanne Llanos Bare and her husband David, Madison Bare-Pulido and her husband Antonio, and Kyle Bare and his partner Lauren. Grandchildren Emerson and Eden Llanos Bare. Father Archie Bare. Siblings Nicholas Bare, Roger Bare, and Janice Graves. 18 Nieces and Nephews including Jennifer Blackthorn, Nicholas Bare, and Mallory Dewald and 15 Great Nieces and Nephews.
