MARJORIE YINGERJanuary 25, 1929 ˜ June 11, 2023 Marjorie Yinger, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on June 11, 2023, at the age of 94.Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Louie; her father, Dallas; her mother, Iris; and her brother, Jim.She is survived by her three children and their spouses. Gary - wife Patti, Stan - wife Pam, and Debbie - husband Paul; and her sister, Maxine. Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Marjorie was born on Jan. 25, 1929 in Adams, NE. Her family moved around a lot until 1941 when the family moved to Hood River, OR. Shortly after their next move was to Vancouver, WA,where she spent the rest of her years. One of her special memories was participating in the christening of the liberty ship the USS Alazon Bay in 1943 in the Vancouver shipyards. Marjorie worked as a receptionist at the Oregonian in her younger years. She met Louie on a blind date - they fell in love and were married on June 12, 1948. Three kids followed and despite some lean years many great memories were made. She had many talents, working on the farm and cooking for her husband's buddies and volunteer fireman friends. She was bookkeeper for her husband's custom haying business as well as his Log Stacker Repair Service. Marjorie and her husband volunteered for Fire District 11 for many years.She was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed making and decorating wedding cakes and painting ceramics. Home was their farm in Ridgefield for many years until her husband passed. After the farm upkeep became too much, she moved to a condo which she really enjoyed. Next stop was 8 years at the Van Mall Retirement Center where she made many new friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and watching movies with them. When her health started to decline, she moved to Highland Adult Care Home where she spent the last two years of her life. Her caregivers, Alex, Roxy and Katie were wonderful ladies who gave her great care and were especially kind to her. The Kaiser Hospice team, nurses Heather and Mary Kay were wonderfully kind and compassionate during her last days. Chaplin Todd was there as well to give her words of comfort.Graveside services will be held July 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Memorial Park - (6906 NE 144th St.) Funeral will follow at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Battle Ground.
