Kathleen Susan Adams

Kathleen Susan Adams, January 13th 1952 to March 7th 2020 Kathy was born on January 13th, 1952 in Portland, Oregon to Lenore and Marlen Nedderman. She was their middle child. Her older sister Teri Nedderman resides in Troutdale, Oregon and her younger sister Debbie Kneeland resides in Canyonville, Oregon. Kathy grew up in Portland until she was 14 and then moved to the family farm in Hubbard, Oregon. She attended North Marion High School and graduated in 1970. After graduation she went to Phagans School of Beauty. Kathy met her husband Spike in late November of 1972. They were married 6 weeks later on her 21st birthday in 1973. Wilbur LeRoy Adams, aka "Spike" shared 44 years with Kathy until his death in August of 2017. Kathy and Spike spent the first 2 years of their marriage living in Vancouver, Washington where they welcomed their first child Stacey in May of 1974. Shortly after her arrival they moved to the family farm in Hubbard. Their second child Joe arrived in May of 1975. Kathy was a wonderful mother. She took incredible care of her family. Hot breakfasts before school and she never missed a volleyball game or a wrestling match. She had a very close relationship with her children. Kathy was always there for them. Being with her children was her happy place. Kathy and Spike raised Stacey and Joe on the farm until they moved to Aurora in 1996. They lived in Aurora until 2003 when they moved to Vancouver Washington. After Spike passed, Kathy decided to fulfill a dream of theirs and move to the coast. She built a beautiful home in Warrenton, Oregon. She moved into her new home in December of 2018. She lived there until her passing. Kathy is preceded in death by both of her parents, Lenore and Marlen Nedderman as well as her husband Spike Adams. Her daughter Stacey lives with her husband Joy in Troutdale, Oregon and her son Joe lives with his wife Mandy in Burns, Oregon. Kathy has 8 grandchildren. Christopher John, Matthew John, Cort Haberstich, Zachary John, Savannah Meyer, Sara John, Abigail Meyer and Alexis Adams. Kathy worshipped her grandchildren. Kathy thought the best part of her life started when she had grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. Kathy was a caretaker to everyone she loved. She felt that was her purpose in life and she was the most kind, patient and loving caretaker. She took care of her grandmothers Hazel Vallen and Mable Nedderman, her mother Lenore, her sister Teri, her husband and many, many others. She had the privilege for a brief time taking care of Gertrude Joiner, Steve Haberstich and Jim Haberstich when they were young. Kathy loved having Stacey and Joe's friends over. Kathy and Spike always said the more the merrier. Her home was usually full of people. Kathy was a fabulous homemaker. She loved to host dinners and was a fantastic cook. Her homes were always beautifully taken care of. She also loved to garden. She loved living at the beach and enjoyed many fun days with her best friend Lisetta Henrichsen and her sisters Debbie and Teri. Kathy was a Christian. Kathy attended Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora, Oregon and Christ Community in Ridgefield, Washington. She loved the many relationships she made attending these churches. She had a relationship with God and her faith helped her after the passing of Spike. Because Kathy knew that her time was limited she was able to say goodbye. She told Stacey how grateful she was for her life. She said she was so blessed to have the husband she had and the children she had. She was thankful for her daughter-in-law Mandy because she took such great care of her son and she felt the same way about her son-in-law Joy. She talked about her grandchildren and how much she loved them. Kathy is in Heaven, reunited with Spike and her love will forever last in the hearts of her loved ones.
