ED (EDWARD CHESTER) LYNCH "Your greatness is not what you have, it is what you give." - Author unknown Ed served in the United States Navy, graduated from Stanford University and enjoyed a successful career with Peter Kiewit Sons Construction Company. He loved Vancouver and Vancouver loved him back. Ed had a lifelong love affair with books, history, travel, Kiewit, First United Methodist Church, Colonial Williamsburg and the Founding Fathers, Fort Vancouver National Trust, Providence Academy, a multitude of Vancouver causes and charities, Arch Cape, Orange Juice Not From Concentrate, Paul Newman's Lemonade, Dominoes and DQ Dilly Bars. With a twinkle in his eye, Ed excelled at strength of character, having an honest heart and doing what is right-not what is easy. He was a master of humorous zingers and prided himself on being a problem solver, taking responsibility and leading by example. These values were instilled in him by his beloved parents, Gwendolyn and Henry B. Lynch. Ed made a difference in the lives of many. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from him during his 94 years. He would want everyone to remember him with a smile. Ed was the cherished husband of Dollie, who predeceased him 2010. He is survived by his sister Patricia; children, Louanna (Chuck), Susan, Carolyn (Randy,) Michael (Monica); grandchildren Chris (Karen), Charlie (Brenda), Meredith, Patrick (Sophie), Jake, Nicole, Seb, Harrison; great grand-children Elizabeth, Lillian, Celeste, Zachary, Charlie, and Cassidy; nieces and nephews, Steve, Eve, Joy, Allan, Susan, Kevin, Karyn, Carlene and Norm; and friends and confidantes Jim and Ceci. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret, brother Chester; granddaughter Emily Kate; and nephew George. We invite you to join us and celebrate, together, a life well lived.
